We're heading to the cabin tonight. It's not that far, really, only about seven or eight miles south of our house.
Still, it's like vacation.
We haven't stayed at the cabin since deer hunting last November. I feel like we've been missing out. The cabin feels so quiet and remote because once we're there, we really don't want to leave.
Clarence has been asking for over a month now if we can go and stay at the cabin. Finally, we just decided that we need to do it, otherwise we won't get there. So, we're headed there tonight. I really can't wait. I'm not really sure how well my kids will sleep - they usually go to bed late and wake up early - but that's ok. We're "vacationing" for the night.
I've been baking all day - muffins, bread, buns, caramel rolls and cinnamon rolls with coffee/maple icing. I'm taking the rolls to the cabin for all of us to have for breakfast (my whole family will be there). It's so fun to sit around, visit, drink coffee and enjoy a yummy breakfast together!
Off I go to pack for the kids and make sure I remember all the food I'm planning to bring.
Sleep tight!
Have a fun weekend!
